Each month we look to highlight one of our employees and the great work that they do here at Method!
Melissa Pasche is our Controller and she grew up here in Houston, Texas! She received her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Texas A&M (whoop!) in Accounting.
Check out our latest catch up with Melissa:
What first interested you in your profession?
Truthfully, I went into school undeclared, and I got to sophomore year when they make you declare a major. I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and I figured that business was always a good fall back, so I enrolled in the business school. I took my first accounting class, was failing miserably for half the semester, and then something clicked and I started to understand it. I love accounting because everything balances and has an explanation. It has elements that can be mundane, but it also provides invaluable data that can help drive the decisions made by the management of the company.
What do you enjoy most about working at Method?
I love the work hard/play hard environment. I like that no one takes themselves too seriously, and yet everyone has a lot of pride in the work they do and the company. I like that my voice is heard and that we have a management team that truly cares about the employees.
What has been your favorite memory during your time with Method?
I had a lot of fun at the company retreat last year, seeing the teams work together, hearing their goals and dreams for their teams and the company.
Outside of work, what are your favorite hobbies and things to do?
I have three kids, 7, 4 and 1, and they keep me pretty busy with baseball, soccer, gymnastics and school. We are also active in our church, and I sing in the choir there.
