Method Architecture cooks up specialization in breweries
The first time architect Jake Donaldson was hired to design a craft brewery, his client was just getting started in the business and didn’t have a lot to spend on the project. So they made a swap: architectural services for beer.
That job in 2012 led to others, and today, Donaldson’s firm — Method Architecture — boasts a design portfolio of more than 30 breweries and distilleries in the Houston area.
One of the firm’s most recent projects was the new Buffalo Bayou Brewing Co. in Sawyer Yards near downtown, whose co-founder Rassul Zarinfar was the one who paid Donaldson in beer for that first job.
