Archtoberfest: Raising a Glass to Brewery Design

Every fall, communities around the world gather to celebrate Oktoberfest, a tradition filled with music, laughter, and, of course, great beer. At Method Architecture, we’ve put our own twist on the celebration—welcome to Archtoberfest, a moment to spotlight the craft breweries we’ve had the privilege to partner with and the spaces we’ve brought to life.

Designing for Craft & Community

Brewery design isn’t just about creating a place to brew beer—it’s about crafting an experience. From the tanks and tap lines to the patios and communal tables, every element plays a role in how people come together. Our work with breweries across Texas has always been rooted in listening to each client’s story, their brewing process, and their vision for community connection.

Whether it’s transforming an old warehouse into a lively taproom or designing a ground-up facility that balances production with hospitality, our team has raised more than a few pints in celebration of the craft.

Featured Pours: Breweries We’ve Designed

🍺 Karbach Brewing Co.
As one of Houston’s most recognized breweries, Karbach’s space is as bold and dynamic as its beer lineup. From their expansive biergarten to their production spaces, every detail reflects their commitment to craft and community.

🍺 Platypus Brewing
A little bit of Australia in the heart of Houston, Platypus Brewing’s space balances industrial grit with warm, welcoming vibes. The design mirrors their playful brand, offering the perfect setting for a pint with friends.

🍺 Turning Point Beer
Known for their innovative brews and strong fan following, Turning Point needed a space that could keep up with their creative energy. We delivered a taproom and production facility that captures their bold identity while keeping the beer at the center.

🍺 Bear King Brewing
Nestled in the Texas Hill Country, Bear King Brewing brings small-town charm with big character. Their space combines a family-friendly atmosphere with rustic details that feel true to the region.

🍺 Baileson Brewing
Housed in a repurposed gas station, Baileson Brewing is a testament to creativity and reuse. The design preserves its quirky charm while providing a laid-back taproom vibe that regulars love.

🍺 Second Draught
Located in Houston’s Ion District, an innovation and tech hub, Second Draught showcases the intersection of craft beer and cutting-edge ideas. The space is sleek, modern, and perfectly positioned as a gathering spot for the city’s innovators.

🍺 Toasty Bros Beer
This small but mighty brewery delivers a laid-back atmosphere that matches its approachable beers. The design emphasizes comfort and community, perfect for a casual pint with friends.

🍺 True Anomaly Brewing
Founded by a group of rocket scientists, True Anomaly’s space is futuristic yet approachable, reflecting their experimental approach to brewing and their bold brand identity.

Cheers to Innovation

Much like brewing itself, architecture is a blend of art, science, and experimentation. Archtoberfest is our way of honoring that spirit—celebrating not only the breweries we’ve worked with but also the culture of innovation they represent.

As Oktoberfest reminds us, beer has always been about bringing people together. At Method, we’re proud to help create the backdrops where those connections happen—one pint at a time.

Prost to Archtoberfest, and here’s to many more years of great design and great beer! 🍻
