We’re thrilled to welcome Edna Zepeda to the Method team as our newest Senior Project Manager in San Antonio!
With 15 years of experience, Edna brings a balanced perspective and a natural knack for collaboration—two things that fit right in with the Method mindset. With a strong background that bridges construction and architecture, Edna brings a wealth of experience, insight, and heart to her new role from procurement to the final punch list.
A Journey from Construction to Architecture
Originally from Laredo, Texas, Edna’s career journey has spanned across both the construction and architecture sectors over the past 15 years. Early in her career, she worked with general contractors and developers, gaining firsthand insight into the construction process, especially in government projects. In 2012, she transitioned fully into architecture, where she has remained ever since, bringing a holistic understanding of project life cycles from both sides of the industry.
Edna credits her early exposure to procurement and government project management with giving her a unique edge in understanding project logistics and client expectations. Her breadth of experience allows her to approach architecture with a deep understanding of the construction realities that bring designs to life.
What drew Edna to Method Architecture?
When asked, Edna shared that she was drawn to Method’s ego-free environment and people-first philosophy. She appreciated that we place just as much value on cultural fit and team dynamics as we do on technical expertise.
“The strong emphasis on culture and collaboration over ego was a huge green flag for me.”
Favorite Projects and Career Highlights
Throughout her career, Edna has led a variety of projects, but two stand out as her personal favorites:
- Imaginarium of South Texas: A children’s museum project that allowed for immense creativity and imagination. Even though the museum has since relocated due to funding, Edna remembers this project fondly for its playful spirit and the unique challenges.
- Restoration of San Agustín Cathedral in Laredo: A historically significant project close to Edna’s heart, this endeavor involved restoring a beloved landmark. She was involved in the early stages of documentation and structural assessments, contributing to the stabilization and preservation of the leaning tower—a hidden “Tower of Pisa” in her hometown.
Favorite phases of a project: A love for the “bookends”
Edna describes her favorite phases of a project as the “bookends”—the initial conceptual stage where ideas flow freely, and the final closeout when those ideas take physical form.
“Things rarely go exactly as planned on site. I enjoy being the person who helps navigate those challenges while staying focused on the big picture.”
Over the years, Edna has learned the value of thorough documentation and the power of empathy. She makes it a priority to understand the perspectives of everyone involved, from clients to consultants—resulting in smoother projects and stronger relationships.
“Everyone comes into a project with different goals and pressures. If you take the time to really understand where they’re coming from, it changes the way you collaborate. Most people just want to feel heard and supported.”
First impressions of Method?
Even within her first week, Edna has already been impressed by the diversity of projects at Method and the wealth of resources dedicated to supporting the team.
“I can already tell how much care and effort has gone into making resources available to everyone. It’s rare to find a place that doesn’t just expect a lot from their employees but actively invests in making them better,” she notes.
Looking Ahead
Edna is excited about the projects on the horizon, particularly those tied to Laredo and potential new ventures in Fredericksburg. She’s ready to dive in, contribute her experience, and continue building on Method’s commitment to delivering outstanding, client-focused architecture.
We couldn’t be more excited to have Edna on board and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make across our projects and team culture. Welcome to Method Architecture, Edna!
