Project Overview
East End Maker Hub, a redevelopment project located in Houston’s East End District, is a high tech hub for education, manufacturing, and job training. As the largest maker space in Texas, the hub has room for as many as 100 startups featuring leaseable workshops, collaboration spaces, conference rooms, offices, storage space, classrooms, and manufacturing areas.
Current tenants include traditional manufacturers, hardware companies, fabricators and biomanufacturing and medical device companies. The $38 million project was funded through $8M in federal tax credits, $24M from the city of Houston’s Community Development Block Grants and Section 108 loans, $5M from the U.S. Economic Development Administration and $1M from TXRX Labs, a local tech incubator.
