At Method, we are always excited to introduce our new group of interns! In addition to being incredibly talented, our interns bring fresh ideas, new perspectives and experience with the latest technology. Our intern program offers real client experience, freedom to bring creative ideas and a one-to-one mentoring component to create a successful overall experience.

Here are the Summer 2021 interns:

Amanda | Method Houston Office

University of Houston Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design

What is your major? Bachelor of Architecture

Reason for choosing architecture/design as a career: If I am not making or creating something I would probably go crazy….so architecture was perfect!

What is your favorite thing about architecture/design? I love to watch the layers of a building come together.

Favorite building and/or designer? I love DOGMA, They have really nice drawings!

Fun fact we should know about you: My favorite animal is the Opossum and my life long dream is to be a contestant on Wheel of Fortune

Luis | Method Houston Office

University of Houston Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture and Design

What is your major? Architecture major with a minor in Studio Art and Marketing.

Reason for choosing architecture/design as a career: I chose this career path because in architecture you get a sense of joy having the thought of potentially seeing your building and work come to life. Once your design is complete people will begin to feel a certain way towards it. In my eyes, a successful career will be creating designs where I will leave people feeling beyond satisfied giving them a sense of completeness and happiness, whether it be people inhabiting the space or people walking by it.

What is your favorite thing about architecture/design? My favorite thing about architecture is that it is timeless. It has been around since humanity came about and it is something that we will carry with us as it helps dictate how we function as a society in a certain space.

Luis as “Trashcan Man” at a UH Basketball game!

What are you enjoying about Method/the internship so far? What I am enjoying most about Method is how the entire staff lives up to the ego-free mentality. Everyone on the staff is always willing to share their knowledge and time not only to better themselves, but to better the team as a whole.

Favorite building and/or designer? My favorite building is La Muralla Roja by Ricardo Bofill and my favorite architect is Bjarke Ingels.

Fun fact we should know about you: I was the first Trashcan Man mascot at the University of Houston, which has now become a tradition at the University of Houston basketball games. Trashcan Man is basically a free throw distraction where a student painted in red from head-to-toe bursts out yelling out of a trashcan attempting to distract the free throw shooter.
