Tis the season for Holiday cheer and desserts full of beer from Method Architecture! The 8th recipe for the 12 Days of Beer Recipes is beer eggnog icecream!
Ale Have Another Eggnog Ice Cream
- 3 cups prepared eggnog (homemade or store bought)
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup Platypus Brewing Winter Warmer Ale (or a winter ale)
Stir together all ingredients.
Churn in ice cream maker according to manufactures specifications until it reaches a soft serve consistency. This can take up to 20 minutes; the ice cream base should more than double in size.
Place in an airtight container, freeze until set, about 3 hours.

Platypus Brewing’s building was renovated from an existing night club to brewery and taproom/kitchen for full service. Spaces include a mezzanine overlooking the production area as well as views to downtown along with a new exterior patio.
